After I (Lance) had a convo with Tim Jordan of the dynamic Jordan Brothers (owners of Common Wealth Crush and Midland wines) Star Party really began to hit home. As in it found its way to my kitchen table quite easily. Not only is the wine delicious, and the label is gazing with beauty - it's the simplicity of the story behind the label that makes the wine even better. Growing up, Tim always remembered hanging out with friends, looking up, and just staring at the stars. He remembers how relaxing, mesmerizing, and fun it was and how at that moment, everything was good - it was the best kind of party. And that is the kind of party he wants to bring back with his wines. The Star Party project is just getting off the ground, and it will likely be another VA hit. Ben is known for his work at EMV, but Tim is the secret sauce. Tim manages the family vineyard in Mt. Airy and is a wizard with the vines. He also plays his part as owner and has a crucial role in winemaking at their custom crush. This is his project that he started with another friend - and it's their take on making low-intervention style table wines for everyday easy drinking or star gazing.

After trying this wine, I was blown away at how good it was. Silky smooth with just the right amount of tannins and finesse. Its softness and medium red fruit lifts this wine into the horizon. It will also age quite nicely over the years.  39% Cabernet Franc / 29% Merlot / 17% Petit Verdot / 10% Tannat / 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fruit from five different vineyard sites in Virginia, primarily from the Shenandoah Valley and Middleburg AVAs. Ambient yeast fermentation, aged in 75% stainless steel and 25% neutral oak. Unfined/ unfiltered.
